Vic Coupland has been trading for almost 100 years and is stronger than ever. Starting its life as a shop selling household electrical equipment, today we’re one of the leading and most respected M&E contractors in the region. Over the last century we’ve continually kept a finger on the pulse of the mechanical and electrical engineering sector, enabling us to provide the full scope of M&E services to clients in Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and across the UK.

A History of Vic Coupland 

1926 Established by Victor Coupland. 

1933 Incorporation into the ECA, making Vic Coupland LTD one of the 100 oldest members of the Association 

1940s Vic Coupland’s first electrical contracting office. 

1958 Invested in a fleet of vans. 

1986 After steering the direction of the company for 60 years, Vic Coupland passed away. Vic’s son Roy takes over as Managing Director of the company. 

2000 Vic Coupland Ltd added to the Memories of Hull book. 

2012 Incorporation into ConstructionLine. Matthew Dodson, Nigel Marris and Paul Chapman took over as company directors. 

2019 Todays rebranded vans. 

1926 cont. Vic Coupland’s original shop on Hessle Road in Kingston Upon Hull 

1937 Vic Coupland Ltd officially incorporated as a company 

1957 Incorporation into the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting.  Acquired additional property on Carr Lane in Hull. 

1968 Company moved to Myton Street in Hull. 

1991 Vic’s grandson Terry takes over the reigns from his dad and becomes Managing Director. 

2001 Moved to new (and current) premises on Therm Road off Cleveland Street in Hull. 

2014 Incorporation of Vic Coupland Mechanical.
